December came sooner than we all expected this year.
The year of unexplainable , unimaginable and uncharted paths we have individually and collectively experienced in this 2020 year. The slow and crisp air has gently begun to welcome each of us into the season of winter. I like most of you wasn’t ready to shed the visual signs of the fall and adjust our lifestyle yet again to a change of season. It has felt as if the earth has collectively inhaled and exhaled “when? oh! when will all this Corona Virus end?” The sadness, death, loneliness and stationary position has taken its formidable shot at US and we have lived in and living through the pandemic of our lifetime.
I’m only sure of this one simple truth, “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me”. Psalm 16:8 in this unmatched season of life He has revealed his never-ending care and compassion toward us. Sometimes is was discovered during deep searching and at other times it was broken open through pointed and passionate questioning…….and He responded to us as Beloved, Daughters. A response that produced a supernatural comfort and stillness even as we lived in the whirlwinds of life.
A fresh introduction to John14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift— peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So, don’t be troubled or afraid.”
This radical truth came crashing down in the midst of job loss, hunger, mental distress, fear, anxiety and an enormous amount of uncertainty.
A gift! He left a gift that’s as amazing as the giver……the message of Christmas is one that was born in struggle, in flight as strangers surrounded in undesirable conditions to unveil God with Us. Immanuel Oh Immanuel,” For unto us a child is born, Unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
Christ is Christmas…….He’s the very essence and substance of the day of remembrance and celebration of God’s love for creation. Christ is the only Christmas gift that keeps on giving passed eternity.💜
SisterFriends, no amount of commercialism, idols ,consumerism or paganism can change the fact and reality that Christ Is Christmas. Without Him as the central figure you simply just have
a winter break but even then, He is still found as Colossians 1:17 says,” He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Hold Together my sister in his peace unwrapping again and again the gift he left you, PEACE.
One last declaration as we move toward a New Year with all the promise and hope that encompasses a new beginning I declare as Isaiah 46:4 says, “I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”
Heavenly Father I pray for every woman, girl or male that reads this blog will experience a renewed hope and faith surrounded by the gift of your promise, PEACE
